Palette
The Palette panel is the foundation of every gradient. The Color Space control offers RGB, OKLCH, and OKLAB, with OKLCH selected by default. Each mode changes how colors transition.
Adding and Removing Colors
- Click + to add a new color (maximum 8)
- Click the × on any swatch to remove it (minimum 2)
- Colors render in the order they appear in the panel
Reordering
Drag a color row by its handle to reorder the palette vertically. The canvas updates when you drop the row.
Color Picker
Click a swatch to open the color picker. You can:
- Interact with the hue/saturation/brightness gradient field
- Type a hex code directly into the input field
- Color changes apply immediately; closing the picker does not undo them
Blend Mode
The Color Space segmented control provides three interpolation methods:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| OKLCH | Default; interpolates lightness, chroma, and hue |
| OKLAB | Interpolates perceptual L, a, and b components |
| RGB | Standard linear interpolation — may produce dull midtones on complementary pairs |
Compare the modes directly; results depend on your chosen colors.
Blend Bias & Sharpness
- Blend Bias shifts the interpolation midpoint — push toward 0 to weight toward your first color, toward 100 to weight toward the last
- Blend Sharpness controls how abruptly colors transition; higher values produce more distinct color bands
Image Color Extraction
Click Upload Image / Param Code to open the visual sampling modal. Initial markers sample the image; drag them to select specific colors. These samples are not guaranteed to be the dominant colors.
TIP
Try uploading a sunset photo or a design reference — the extracted palette often produces gradient starting points that would take minutes to build manually.
